I have been working with the tarot since I was 8 years old. I stumbled upon info
about the tarot in a book in the young adult section of the library at around that
age and became instantly fascinated by the images and the idea of being able to see
the future with something as simple as a deck of cards. Not long after that I acquired
two small occult booklets, one on the tarot and one on psychic ability. Within
a month or so I would say I got a deck of tarot cards after taking every deck of
playing cards my Grandmother had in the house and mixing them up to make one huge
deck to try and divine with. While I wasn't exactly a hardcore tarot enthusiast at
8 years old, they stayed a constant in my life in varying degrees over the years.
When I was 16 I had picked them back up again seriously. I had been studying Wicca
for 3 or 4 years at that point and decided it was time to examine the tarot again. I had
been fascinated by things of a more occult nature like ouija boards, table tipping
and anything relating to spirit contact at that time. I thought I could start
using the cards for spirit contact as well. I do this now for people when they
want me to get in touch with a spirit of a loved one, something I get a lot of
requests for around the time of Samhain/Halloween. I have since been a
serious practitioner of the tarot, using it daily, and loving the vast world
that it carries in such a small package.
I began reading for other people in a professional capacity when I was about 23.
Aside from reading for friends and family, I started doing readings online for
free and then soon realized that I was often spending whole days at the computer
in chat rooms doing readings for people. It was very draining but something that
I loved to do. After talking to a few professional readers I decided to make that
attempt to read for the general public as a professional and quickly gained repeat
clients and a great deal of positive feedback. Along the way I began doing other
things for my tarot clients including helping them create spells and rituals for
themselves, doing healing work and Reiki for them.
Currently I teach classes on tarot both privately as well as in shops and in groups.
I have a book on tarot that breaks down much the teaching that I do as well as
tarot history and card meanings coming out in January called "The Tarot Path".
You'll be seeing that for sale on the site early next year. Be sure to check
